The San Bernardino County Library is passionate about promoting youth literacy continuously throughout the year. We are committed to providing quality programs that our community members can appreciate. After completing an assessment of programs that were being offered, it was determined that children and teens would benefit from a reading program during the fall months. To address this need the County Library developed an exclusive partnership with the Baker’s Drive-Thru restaurant chain to host a reading for rewards initiative to encourage reading in children and teens in the fall months. Through this program, we have seen a consistent increase in program attendance and in the circulation of library materials during the fall months which have traditionally been flat months for the library system. We continue to build strong partnerships with local businesses and community members alike. In addition, we have seen increases in the engagement of employees by providing regular training and access to program materials.
