The San Bernardino County Assessor-Recorder- Clerk office (ARC) has taken an innovative approach to continue providing essential services through web-based providers. Previously, marriage license issuance, marriage ceremony performances, and filings of Fictitious Business Names were only processed in person or via mail. ARC was challenged with finding innovative processes to meet the needs of the community during the unprecedented COVID -19 pandemic. ARC made numerous upgrades to its website and internal processes to streamline services virtually to customers. The Assessor-Recorder-Clerk office was able to reduce processing times by 40% and reduce customer/staff exposure to COVID-19 by over 80% through implementations of new technological systems.
