Montgomery County, one of only four control jurisdictions in Maryland, experiences a substantial disconnect between other county Boards of License Commissioners causing isolation in the area of state alcohol laws and consequences, enforcement procedures, and educational programs. To close this gap, Montgomery County held an all day, statewide Alcohol Regulatory Forum on Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 free of cost to Boards of Licensed Commissioners, inspectors, and administrators. Consisting of a trend discussion session, multiple workshops and an evaluation, this forum helped identify solutions to alcohol related issues; encouraging a standardized and more efficient service to the community within each county involved.
