“Addressing for a Better Community” involves a compilation of ongoing enhanced Geographic Information System (GIS) processes. Through an Addressing/Interagency cooperative effort for centralized master address location maintenance, Columbia County, Georgia is able to provide services needed throughout the four districts within the County. “Addressing for Better Community” allows the County to accurately document both commercial and residential structures, account for businesses operating within the County, provide Emergency Response and Public Safety services, and to assess the 53,177 parcels in the County.
