Year: 2018

In 2013, Leon County launched the “ReNew” Campaign to promote Household Hazardous Waste Collection events and services provided through the County’s Solid Waste Management Division. The ReNew Campaign brings both consistency and targeted messaging to the County’s solid waste customers, and also provides a greater opportunity to educate citizens about the ways in which hazardous materials can be disposed of in a safe, easy, and environmentally conscious way. Initially, the County utilized the ReNew brand to promote its reblended paint program, which allows for the drop off of old latex paint so that it can be recycled and made available to residents free of charge. The campaign was expanded in 2017 to include all household hazardous waste disposal and product re-use services provided through the County’s Solid Waste Management Division. Through utilization of new media markets and the adoption of a consistent brand and messaging, the County has achieved its goal to educate and spread awareness of the services offered by the Household Hazardous Waste program to Leon County residents.
