About William Fanjoy

William (Bill) Fanjoy is the Director of multiple Commercial Service offices of the U.S. Department of Commerce and Executive Secretariat of the Virginia and Washington, D.C. District Export Council (DEC).  His office promotes U.S. trade by finding and vetting overseas buyers for U.S. companies, structuring firm trade deals and building long-term trade models to enter multiple international markets. He and his staff have day-to-day contact between U.S. exporting businesses and partners, including overseas buyers, export financers, U.S. and Foreign Embassies, The Export Import Bank, The Overseas Private Investment Corporation and any private or public-sector resource necessary for their clients to successfully sell overseas.

Prior to the Department of Commerce, Mr. Fanjoy worked with several Africa-focused firms and overseas agencies, including USAID, the World Bank, Peace Corps, The Mitchel Group, Chemonics International and Wildlife Conservation Society.  He spent three years on water-management construction projects in Mali, West Africa, and three years managing a large Wildlife Park in the Congo.  Mr. Fanjoy founded the Play and Learn Foundation, USA, a Girls and Boys Community Center Program in Ghana, and has authored “How to Establish and Operate Wildlife Parks in Africa” (for Wildlife Conservation Society), “Congolese Local Labor and Tax Law” (for Jane Goodall), “How Hershey Brought Its Miracle Food to Ghana” (for Ghana Business News) and “The Ruble Devaluation: U.S. Business in Nizhny Novgorod”.
