The National Association of Counties (NACo) announces an opening for an IT Manager. The IT Manager is responsible for managing the information technology team, vendors, consultants, and the cloud/on premise infrastructure.
This position will be in-person located at the NACo office in Washington, D.C. A hybrid schedule will be available based on job performance and work projects.
The IT Manager reports to the Chief Information Officer (CTO) with minimal supervision.
Position Responsibilities and Activities
- In cooperation with the CTO, Manage the IT budget and ensure technology investments are aligned with the organization's goals
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal IT policies, procedures, and short and long-term planning
- Participate with the CTO in developing and executing IT program plans and strategies
- Oversee the maintenance, security, and optimization of the organization's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and data centers
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and ensure the organization is receiving high-quality technology solutions and services
- Manage technology projects, including project planning, resource allocation, and project execution
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Lead IT asset management process including maintenance of an up-to-date asset inventory
- Provide technical guidance and support to end-users within the organization, including troubleshooting technical issues and providing training and documentation as needed.
- Assist as needed with on-boarding/off-boarding of employees and contractors
- Assist with implementing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals
- Monitor and assess security vulnerabilities and associated risks and ensures data security
- Develop and maintain technical and project documentation
- Develop monthly dashboard reporting that covers security, help desk, project progress and Azure utilization
- Manage and monitor the overall NACo system and network infrastructure
- Acts on behalf of the CTO in their absence as directed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in responsible leadership position
- Self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
