The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) of the County of San Diego is seeking applications and résumés from qualified individuals for Deputy Director, Environmental Health. This executive management position will be a strategic and innovative leader who strives for continuous improvement and is responsible for providing leadership and oversight over various DEH divisions. DEH is a nationally recognized agency with award winning programs and has an annual operating budget of $55.7 million with 308 employees.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or a certified foreign studies equivalency AND, five years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the classification. Experience must include three years of management level experience and at least one year of supervision OR, a combination of experience and/or education. Certification as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) is highly desirable.
