    Corporate Relations Assistant

    The National Association of Counties (NACo) is seeking a Corporate Relations Assistant (CRA) who, under the direction of the Senior Manager of Corporate Relations, will coordinate the marketing activities of our partners and sponsors and maintain the day-to-day administrative duties of the Corporate Relations team. The CRA role is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate looking to develop valuable experience with both the public and private sectors, including building relationships with nearly every industry, implementing marketing plans, and furthering their understanding of county government.

    This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Corporate Relations and will assist the Director of Strategic Relations.

    Position Responsibilities and Activities

    • Initiate the corporate partner onboarding process through marketing activities, such as setting up company profile pages, collecting logos, scheduling meetings with program managers, and more.
    • Develop and maintain print and online marketing materials for the partner program, such as brochures, corporate decks, advertisements, corporate web pages, and more.
    • Drive, manage and track partner and sponsor fulfilment (such as complimentary registrations, signage, targeted events and focus groups, onsite assistance, etc.) at all conferences and meetings.
    • Write and develop a monthly corporate partner newsletter at the direction of the Senior Manager of Corporate relations.
    • Track prospects from identification to close and produce regular reports on progress and produce end-of-year partner reports.
    • Build cross-team relationships to ensure needs of sponsors are met by various stakeholders within NACo.
    • Research potential corporate partners, identify key information, and schedule and prepare the Director of Strategic Relations for conversations with prospects.
    • Perform administrative tasks for the Director of Strategic Relations and the Senior Manager of Corporate Relations, such as scheduling meetings, taking notes, keeping track of action items, drafting correspondence, etc.
    • Assist with planning a small, annual offsite event for partners and members (attendance approx. 100) – plan all activities, meals, venue logistics, content, attendee communications, etc.
    • Financial tasks: create and send invoices to current and new partners and sponsors, follow-up on overdue payments, reconcile financial reports, etc. Manage finances and memberships in D365 membership system.
    • Additional duties as the corporate program continues to grow and evolve.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Political Science, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred, but not required
    • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills; Experience with CRM tools, such as D365, is a plus
    • Impeccable attention to detail and proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities.
    • Ability to interface effectively and professionally with elected officials, corporate executives and NACo staff at all levels
    • Excellent communication skills, must manage internal relationships across staff as well as relationships with 50+ companies

    Working Conditions

    • Hybrid Work Schedule
    • Travel Required 3-5 times annually
