    Assistant Municipal Services Division Director

    Government Services Group, Inc. (GSG) is seeking candidates to serve as their Assistant Municipal Services Division (MSD) Director.

    GSG is a Florida-based firm providing consulting and management services to over 160 federal, state, and local government clients. GSG’s Municipal Services Division has served as the System Manager for the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) since its inception in 1999. The FGUA was formed as a special purpose government to acquire, own, improve, operate, and maintain water and wastewater facilities. The FGUA currently has over 80 systems in 13 counties across Florida and provides service to approximately 120,000 customer connections including those at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, with administration of the operation out of GSG’s Orlando, Florida office. The FGUA is governed by a six-member Board of Directors, comprised of representatives from Citrus, Hendry, Lee, Marion, Pasco, and Polk counties. The Assistant MSD Director will largely assist in the operations of the FGUA but will also support a wide range of other GSG management services for other clients including capital program administration, water and sewer utility services, financial administration, debt management, contract management oversight, and customer service and billing services.

    The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership, management, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a collaborative and inclusive leadership style with proven results. A bachelor’s degree in any management or business-related study is required, with a master’s degree preferred. Candidates should have at least 10 years of executive leadership experience, including not less than five years of established success in an organizational leadership position. Demonstrated prior experience providing professional guidance to both appointed and elected leadership is preferred. Experience as a City/County Manager, Assistant/Deputy Manager, or Public Works Director with a municipal utility background is desired.
