Counties across the country are exploring opportunities to expand access to healthcare services across distances and into underserved communities. Modern telecommunications technology is providing Western communities with new opportunities to institute or enhance the use of telehealth services to ensure residents have access to appropriate and reliable medical care and information. Telehealth includes a broad array of medical and specialty services that reach both rural and urban communities. This workshop will explore telehealth services available to urban and rural counties and the technologies needed to support these services and include examples from the California Telehealth Network and counties.
