The Western Interstate Region (WIR) is dedicated to the promotion of Western interests within NACo. Its membership consists of fifteen Western states, (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah and Washington).
WIR Members will receive a federal update from the U.S. Forest Service on their efforts to implement new forest management authorities. Members will also get the latest news on efforts to modernize the Endangered Species Act and strategize for future WIR events and initiatives.
