Join the National Association of Counties (NACo) and your peers for a one-and-a-half-day peer exchange on Tulsa County’s efforts to reduce the number of people with mental illnesses in the jail through the national Stepping Up initiative. Participants will also engage in discussions about how to implement change in their own counties.
NACo will reimburse attendees for airfare and ground transportation to and from the airport (up to $650 total) and will cover up to two nights at the meeting hotel. Please do not book any travel arrangements until you receive an email from NACo approving you for the peer exchange. A registration confirmation email does not guarantee your selection for the event.
Registration and Attendee Selection
Space is limited and registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one individual from each county may attend the peer exchange and priority will go to county elected officials and those who have not attended a NACo justice peer exchange in the past 18 months. The registration deadline is October 14 and selected participants will be notified of their selection no later than October 18.
If you have any questions about this peer exchange, please contact Jessica Perez, NACo Justice Associate, at 202-661-8852 or email@example.com.
Stepping Up is a national initiative to reduce the number of people with mental illnesses in jails and is the result of a partnership between the National Association of Counties, the American Psychiatric Association Foundation and The Council of State Governments Justice Center. NACo would like to thank Janssen: Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson for its generous support of this peer exchange and the Stepping Up initiative.
