Public Lands Policy Steering Committee and Environment Energy and Land Use Policy Steering Committee Joint Meeting and Mobile Workshop

May. 25, 2016 , 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
2016 WIR Conference
Grand Teton, Snow King Hotel (Teton Level)

The two Steering Committees will be meeting with officials from Teton County and Grand Teton National Park to learn about their public-private partnership to learn about the development and implementation of the Zero Landfill initiative. Each year, Teton County generates almost 40,000 tons of waste from residents and businesses and the closest landfill is over 100 miles away. To address rising costs and limited landfill space, the county created a public-private partnership to launch a Zero Landfill Initiative to significantly cut county waste by 2030.
