    NACo and NSA will be hosting members of the joint Task Force on Health Care and Jails this October 8 and 9, for their second in-person convening and advocacy day. During this two-day event, Task Force members will share updates on their local advocacy efforts and discuss next steps and ideas on the group's collective strategy.

    NACo-NSA Health Care & Jails Task Force In-Person Meeting

    NACo and NSA will be hosting members of the joint Task Force on Health Care and Jails this October 8 and 9, for their second in-person convening and advocacy day. During this two-day event, Task Force members will share updates on their local advocacy efforts and discuss next steps and ideas on the group's collective strategy. This meeting will also provide Task Force members with an opportunity to take part in an advocacy day on Capitol Hill, with the goal of sharing the local perspective on the impact of the Medicaid Inmate Exclusion with their respective representatives and advocating for policy change. NACo and NSA staff will help arrange meetings with key bipartisan leaders and committee members in both houses of Congress during the afternoon of October 9.

    WHEN: October 8-9, 2019.

    WHERE: Washington, D.C. Meetings will be conducted at the NACo offices, located at 660 N. Capitol Street, NW, and various offices on Capitol Hill.

    HOTEL: NACo has negotiated rates with two nearby hotels, the Hyatt Regency Washingtion (corporate rate: #54074) and the Washington Court Hotel (corporate rate code: NACo). If making reservations via phone, be sure to ask for the NACo negotiated rate. Other hotels near the NACo office include the Phoenix Park Hotel and the Liaison Washington Capitol Hill (please note that NACo does not have agreements with either of these hotels).

    TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS: We ask that all participants make their own travel arrangements. In order to ensure your full participation in the meeting, please plan on arriving in Washington, D.C. no later than the evening of October 7, 2019 and departing no earlier than October 9, 2019 after 12:00pm.
