County boards in more than 1,300 counties appoint county administrators/managers to help with the increasing complexity of county operations. Most often, county administrators implement the board’s policy, run the daily operations of the county and prepare the annual budget. In partnership with the National Association of County Administrators (NACA), this session will discuss the factors behind the retention of county administrators/managers and strategies for county boards to work together with their appointed personnel toward long and stable relationships in serving the community.
