On this Data-Driven Justice call learn how jurisdictions across the country are implementing diversion methods that are meeting their communities' needs. Counties are utilizing diversion methods ranging from Crisis Intervention Training to post-arrest diversion programs for those with serious mental illness. Participants can see how the San Antonio (Texas) Police Department was able to develop a mobile crisis unit and reduce the number of people with mental illness being sent to the ER and jail. Additionally, participants can learn how Miami-Dade County, Fla., was able to bring together stakeholders to map out itsmental health and criminal justice systems and reduce the number of people entering the criminal justice system. This call did not feature slides.

The Medicaid Inmate Exclusion Policy (MIEP), which denies or revokes federal health and other benefits, is a violation of the equal protection and due process clauses of the Fifth and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution, respectively.
