The National Association of Counties (NACo) – in partnership with Americans for the Arts and with support from the National Endowment for the Arts – will host the Creative Counties Forum at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., on March 3, 2019, during its annual Legislative Conference. The Creative Counties Forum will provide county officials with a better understanding of how their communities can use arts and culture to transform place and solve local challenges.

The event will feature: 1) a conversation with experts in the field of creative placemaking on broad trends and useful resources, 2) a “world café” with the NACo Creative Counties teams to hear about their successes and lessons learned in the creative placemaking realm and 3) an in-depth discussion among those in attendance on creative placemaking and how the arts can be and are being used to solve different types of local challenges.

The Creative Counties Forum will begin at 2:00pm and conclude at 5:00pm. The NACo Arts and Culture Commission will meet in the same room immediately prior to the Forum from 1:00 – 2:00pm. Forum registrants are welcome to come early and attend the Commission meeting.

Please note by registering for the Creative Counties Forum, you are registering for the Forum ONLY not the NACo 2019 Legislative Conference. To register for the conference in its entirety, click here.

The NACo Legislative Conference brings together over 1,500 elected and appointed county officials to focus on federal policy issues that impact counties and our residents. Attendees have the opportunity to engage in second-to-none policy and educational sessions, interact with federal officials and participate in congressional briefings and meetings.
