Feb. 22, 2016 , 1:45 pm – 3:00 pm
2016 NACo Legislative Conference
Educational Workshop Block II, Lincoln 4 (Exhibition Level)

As the substance abuse epidemic has worsened throughout America, counties have been involved in prevention, treatment, and recovery programs that provide those suffering from substance abuse disorders an opportunity to recover from their addictions. In 26 states, counties serve as the local behavioral health authority, and the local behavioral health safety net. In the final part of this two-‐part workshop, you will hear from experts and peer county leaders on strategies and best practices that counties can utilize to prevent substance abuse, and provide treatment and recovery assistance for individuals struggling with addiction in their communities.
