The National Association of Counties (NACo) hosted its 2018 Large Urban County Caucus (LUCC) Symposium and Fall Board Meeting at the InterContinental Hotel in San Diego County, Calif., on Dec. 5–8.
The LUCC Symposium is the premier national forum for the exchange of knowledge and solutions that enhance the operations of metropolitan counties, which collectively serve 150 million American residents. All urban county officials are invited to attend the Symposium to connect with peers, thought-leaders and national experts and to participate in timely conversations on the common issues facing their jurisdictions.

Connecting the UnconnectedConnecting the Unconnected is NACo’s 2018-19 President’s initiative, under the leadership of San Diego County Supervisor Greg Cox. The Initiative explores ways that county governments are connecting our residents in the spirit of building healthy, safe and vibrant communities. The plenary and breakout sessions during the 2018 LUCC Symposium facilitated attendee participation in the initiative by exploring how urban counties can work to “connect the unconnected” when it comes to public health, disconnected youth and data and technology.
