The County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer and Business Affairs is seeking an experienced and vigorous leader with a background in economic development and organizational management to serve as the department’s inaugural Deputy Director of Economic Development. The Deputy Director will lead a team of senior managers in shaping critical programming and initiatives that enhance the economic welfare of communities and agencies throughout Los Angeles County. She or he will lead the development and implementation of program policies and initiatives to meet the mission critical goals of the division, the department, and the Board of Supervisors.
The right person for this role will possess a bachelor’s degree or higher, and have experience in policy development, people management, and customer service. In addition, the ideal candidate will have at least five years of high-level experience leading the implementation of technical and procedural aspects of small business development, consumer protection, real estate fraud prevention, or similar services in a government, non-profit, or financial services organization.
