Dougherty County Board of Commissioners County Administrator Salary Negotiable DOQ Application Deadline: January 12, 2018
A historic and progressive community, is seeking a dynamic, creative, and experienced professional to serve as County Administrator. The position reports to a seven-member board of commissioners, administers an annual budget of over $65,000,000 and manages the daily operations of a county with more than 650 employees and over 20 departments. The county serves as the economic hub of southwest Georgia and is a unique blend of urban amenities mixed with the history and charm of the rural south. The community is known for its beautiful tree-lined streets, riverfront, lakes, and greenspace; but also serves as home to three colleges and universities. This combination of recreational, artistic, and cultural offerings continue to make Dougherty County an attractive location for major corporations and businesses.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership in either a public or private organization, familiarity with Georgia’s local funding methods and shared services agreements, experience with enterprise operations, effective communication skills, demonstrated innovative approaches to problem solving, and the proven, pragmatic creativity in their vision for modern governance. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study is required with a Master’s degree preferred.
