STATE AND LOCAL POLICIES TO ADDRESS COVID-19

Please describe any policies your county or state has implemented to address COVID-19, including:

  • Ensuring quarantine or isolation adherence
  • Managing closings for public facilities to prevent spread (e.g. schools, colleges and universities, businesses, nursing homes, jails, healthcare settings, homeless shelters)
  • Protecting emergency response and public health workers (e.g., local health department staff, doctors and hospital staff, home health aides, nursing home staff, coroners, medical examiners)
  • Ensuring care and support services for vulnerable populations (e.g. elderly, individuals with chronic conditions, homeless, jail inmates)
  • Ensuring continued treatment availability and support services for existing infectious diseases (i.e. HIV/STIs, Hepatitis, etc.) and chronic conditions
  • Other state and local policies
Local Solutions and Responses
(e.g. multi-state cooperative agreements with other states/counties, public-private partnerships with laboratory facilities, using GIS mapping, public forums, etc.)
Communication

Please describe any messaging or communication tools your community is using to relay timely updates to residents regarding outbreak data, including:

  • Identify testing locations and procedures for residents
  • Cancel or postpone large public events and gatherings
  • Share best practices and behaviors (e.g., hand washing, covering mouths, etc.)
  • Other messaging or communication tools
