The 2023 NACo Legislative Conference will bring together elected and appointed county officials from across the country to focus on federal policy issues that impact counties and our residents. Attendees have the opportunity to engage in second-to-none policy sessions, meet the members of the 118th Congress and interact with federal agency officials.

Capitol Hill Day of Action
Tuesday, Feb. 14 | SCHEDULE YOUR MEETINGS TODAY!
During the final day of the conference, we invite NACo members to participate in the Capitol Hill Day of Action, a unique opportunity for county leaders to directly engage with federal lawmakers and educate them on the vital role counties play in crafting and implementing public policy.
We encourage county officials to schedule meetings with your congressional representatives to advocate for key county priorities in the 118th Congress. Meeting with your members of Congress will ensure our federal partners have a better understanding of federal legislation and programs that directly impact counties.

On Monday, February 13, we invite NACo members to participate in the Federal Agency Expo, an opportunity for county leaders to engage directly with representatives from 50 offices across 28 federal agencies.
This is a unique opportunity to discuss the needs of your county with those who administer many federal programs and grants. Please prepare to tell your county’s story and jumpstart federal involvement at the county level.

Medicaid Inmate Exclusion Policy (MIEP) Advocacy Toolkit
The Medicaid Inmate Exclusion Policy (MIEP), which denies or revokes federal health and other benefits, is a violation of the equal protection and due process clauses of the Fifth and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution, respectively.
