Mosquito-Borne Diseases 101
Our mission at VDCI is to protect the public from dangerous mosquito-borne diseases, which account for more than 17% of the world’s infectious diseases. In order to do that we proactively target all phases of the mosquito life cycle to help prevent the transmission of diseases and abundant mosquito populations. Mosquitoes can threaten public health in a number of ways. Mosquito populations grow during urban development, weather events, and abnormal temperatures which in return increases the risk of diseases such as West Nile Virus (WNV), Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), La Crosse Encephalitis, Saint Louis Encephalitis, Dengue Fever, and Zika.
Join us on August 11 at 2 p.m. EDT for a free educational webinar, Mosquito-Borne Diseases 101: Which Diseases Affect Your Region?, to discover the diseases that are primarily found in your area and how you can prevent serious disease outbreaks in your community.
