Hurricane Resources for Communities and Individuals
The Atlantic hurricane season is here and according to NOAA Climate Prediction Center, 2022 is going to be an above-normal season with 14 - 21 named storms and 6 -10 hurricanes, with three to six being major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher).
The dangers of hurricanes include torrential rains, high winds, storm surges, and inland flooding. Though we cannot control the weather, we can prepare ourselves and our communities to be more resilient because studies have shown time and time again that individual preparation can save money, property, and lives.
To that end, Tidal Basin, a leading emergency and disaster management consulting firm, has created an online resources page filled with free downloadable checklists, helpful infographics, social media content and safety tips in English and Spanish.
