Uninsured Rates

In 2016, 38.6% of counties with county governments had an estimated uninsured rate of less than 10 percent for the population under 65.


Medicaid Revenue

County-supported hospitals received over $57 billion in Medicaid revenue.


Nursing Homes

824 nursing homes are county supported, either owned by the county, with a city or by a hospital district.


Food Insecurity Rate

52% of counties have food insecurity rates above the national average of 12.9%.


Millennial Population

In about 32% of all counties, the millennial population (adults aged 20–36 years) accounts for at least a quarter of all residents.
