Deborah Cox

Deputy Executive Director / Director of Government Affairs

Deborah Cox joined the National Association of Counties (NACo) in 2012 and currently serves as the Deputy Executive Director and the Director of Government Affairs. In this capacity she is responsible for Legislative and Executive Branch outreach, advocacy of the association’s legislative priorities and policy development. 

Before joining NACo, Cox served as the Director of Government Relations and Legislative Affairs for the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) which represents the nation's local government-based regional planning and development organizations. Previously, she worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Rodney Alexander from Louisiana. Prior to her time on the Hill, Cox worked for The Livingston Group (former House Appropriations Chairman Bob Livingston) and with the government relations firm Zeliff Enterprises (former Congressman Bill Zeliff).
