Tax reform statement by state and local government and education groups

WASHINGTON — The below listed groups issued the following statement in response to the president’s tax reform speech in Springfield, Mo. today:

“As tax reform plans are developed, we urge the administration and Congress to preserve the state and local tax deduction as a matter of simplicity and fairness — preventing all income levels from being taxed twice — and to uphold state and local decision-making to meet community needs.”
