NACo Issues Statement Encouraging Civil Discourse in Wake of Recent Events

WASHINGTON – The National Association of Counties (NACo) today issued the following statement:

NACo is encouraged that communities across the nation are engaged in meaningful efforts to curb violence, strengthen public safety and foster opportunities for residents to thrive. In the wake of recent events in Dallas, Baton Rouge and Falcon Heights, we must redouble efforts to convene constructive, civil dialogues on issues related to race and policing in local communities. These conversations are necessary – even when they are difficult – to promote understanding within our communities and achieve the progress we strive for daily.
