Program Description:

NACo recently held a one and a half day forum in Los Angeles County, CA, where participants learned how their counties could create safer communities by implementing smart justice initiatives.  The symposium highlighted local justice issues in Los Angeles County and in counties across the country and used these issues to emphasize how accountability, evidence based programs and policies, and the use of data to drive decision making can cut costs and ensure public safety.

The forum was offered as part of Smart Justice, a Presidential Initiative of NACo president, Commissioner Chris Rodgers, Douglas County, NE.
