NACo’s 78th Annual Conference, the 2013 County Solutions and Idea Marketplace, is fast approaching, and we look forward to seeing you in Tarrant County (Fort Worth), Texas this week!

The conference provides county officials a chance to vote on NACo’s policies related to federal legislation and regulation; elect officers; network with colleagues; learn about innovative county programs;  and view products and services from participating companies and exhibitors.

Be sure not to miss out on the many opportunities to learn about the issues impacting counties across the country in the many educational workshops.  Some great examples include:

  • Solutions for Shale Impacted Counties (July 21, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM) : a solutions oriented session on the issue of Hydraulic fracturing
  • Beyond Civility: Communication for Effective Governance (July 20, 1:00-3:00 PM): a workshop covering methods for being heard, understood, and respected in any environment
  • Exports on the Ground: Grow Your County Through Exports (July 21, 9:00 -10:15 AM): a demonstration of how to increase exports from local business in your county

If you have not yet registered, you can do so here.  If you are unable to attend, conference materials will be available after the conference, as will a post here on the County Solutions and Innovation Blog recapping many of the  conference highlights.  In addition, Solutions for Shale Impacted Counties will be broadcasting live online.

Lastly, be sure to download the conference app on your smartphone or tablet (iOS, Android).  The app is packed with features to enhance your conference experience, including maps of the convention space and nearby attractions, a detailed conference program, and  NACo Facebook and Twitter feeds.
