The month of May marks the 24th anniversary of American Wetlands Month to acknowledge the importance of wetlands to our country’s economic, social and environmental health. To celebrate, the Five Star and Urban Waters program partners will host, "Wetlands Restoration and Stewardship," a webinar dedicated to environmental restoration techniques local communities are applying to improve water quality, reduce flooding and protect critical habitats through wetland restoration and protection. The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13th from 2-3pm ET.

This webinar is the first in a series of one-hour online educational webinars in 2014 and 2015 to engage local communities in sharing effective stewardship and restoration practices. The "Cultivating Community Conservation: Techniques, Engagement and Education" webinar series will build local environmental expertise by focusing on topics related to:

  • Restoration techniques and best practices,

  • Partnerships and community engagement approaches, and
