Clerk of the Circuit Court, Champaign County
Katie Blakeman is the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Champaign County. Elected in 2012, Katie has focused her efforts on improving technology and accessibility in the courts, both locally and statewide. Her work has led to two Illinois Supreme Court committee appointments, and she serves on the Technology and Legislative committees for the Illinois Association of Court Clerks.
Katie holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Augustana College, and a graduate degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Passionate about public service, Katie is very active in her community. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Champaign Public Library, and chairs their Visioning committee. She is a member of the Executive Club of Champaign County, and serves as the Sustainer Representative on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Champaign-Urbana. She is a graduate of the United Way of Champaign County’s Emerging Community Leaders program, and was named one of Central Illinois Business Magazine’s Forty Under 40 in 2013. Katie is also a member of the 2016 class of Edgar Fellows, an intensive executive training program focused on improving leadership and governing in the State of Illinois.
