Dewey Harris

Dewey Harris is Assistant County Manager for Catawba County, North Carolina.  Catawba County has eight cities and towns within its boundaries, and is home to a population of 156,182 residents which positions it as the 17th largest county in North Carolina and one of 27 urban counties with a population of 100,000 or more. Mr. Harris joined Catawba County in 2008 with over 19 years of experience in state and municipal government in Oregon, Washington, and North Carolina.   Harris received his Bachelor’s degree in business from Rutgers University, and an MBA in management from Sul Ross State University.  He completed the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia, and the Public Executive Leadership Academy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Mr. Harris has served in leadership capacities on over a dozen non-profit boards, and is a credentialed through the International City County Managers Association.
