Alex Koroknay-Palicz

Membership Coordinator

Alex Koroknay-Palicz joined NACo as Membership Coordinator in February of 2013. He manages the credentialing process for the annual NACo elections and is responsible for invoicing NACo member counties. He makes around 15 trips to state associations each year and prepares all NACo staff and officers for their trips with customized state fact sheets and maps before each trip. He handles procurement for the membership team and is the founder and manager of the official NACo softball team.

Alex previously worked as the Executive Director of the National Youth Rights Association (NYRA), a role he assumed while in college at American University in Washington, D.C. He worked to grow the organization over the next twelve years, and under his leadership NYRA attracted national and international press attention including CNN, Fox News, PBS, the New York Times, LA Times, USA Today and most major newspapers in the country.

Alex grew up in Ottawa County, Mich. and studied Communications, Law, Economics & Government at American University. On a personal note, he loves hiking, music and road trips and is an avid gamer, a diehard Detroit Tigers fan and is active in his church, and he lives in Montgomery County, Md.
