About the Conference

The NACo Legislative Conference brings together nearly 2,000 elected and appointed county officials to focus on federal policy issues that matter most to county governments.

Attendees will experience timely, high-impact policy sessions and will interact with executive branch officials, members of Congress and their staff. Read below for highlights from the conference and click here to explore NACo's upcoming events.

Registration

Registration includes access to all workshops, committee meetings, general sessions and conference-wide receptions.

Registrations include the conference-wide reception event and general sessions. For travel companions only. Not valid for colleagues and those with related job functions.

Payment Policy

Payment is due at the time of registration. Exceptions can be made to allow for payment by check on a case-by-case basis. All fees must be paid in full prior to arrival in order to obtain your badge and registration materials at the conference.

Registration Transfers & Substitutions

To transfer a registration, please contact nacomeetings@naco.org and provide the name and email of the person whose registration you are transferring and the name and email address of the person to whom the registration should be reassigned.

Cancellation Policy

Registrations cancelled by Jan. 2, 2026, will be refunded minus a $50 administration fee. Cancellations made between Jan. 2 and Feb. 6 will receive a 50% refund. After Feb. 6, no refunds will be issued, including for unused registrations or no-shows. This policy applies to all registration types, including guest fees.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to cancellations@naco.org; telephone cancellations are not accepted.

 

Proposed Interim Policy Resolutions

Interim policy resolutions are submitted by NACo members to address timely federal policy issues impacting counties. During the Legislative Conference, NACo's 10 policy steering committees and Board of Directors will consider interim policy resolutions, and those passed will shape NACo's advocacy until NACo's 2026 Annual Conference.

Hotel Accommodations

While the hotel cutoff date has passed, limited rooms may still be available at select conference hotels. Attendees may reserve hotel accommodations using the official NACo housing link through Conference Direct below:

Reserve Your Guestroom

Hotel confirmation emails are sent to the email address used when reserving your room. All reservation changes or cancellations must be made directly through the official housing link. A $30 reservation cancellation fee applies for cancellations, and cancellations made within 72 hours of arrival will incur the $30 fee plus one night’s room and tax.

Venue

Nestled in between the Adams Morgan & Dupont Circle neighborhoods, the Washington Hilton will host all conference sessions unless otherwise noted in the schedule.
