County Administrator Clermont County, Ohio
Clermont County, Ohio, is seeking a new County Administrator with proven executive management and leadership experience. The County Administrator functions as the Chief Operating Officer, and is responsible to the three-member Board of County Commissioners. Our current Administrator is retiring after five years on the job, and twenty-one years with Clermont County. About Clermont County: Clermont County, with an estimated population of 207,000, is a suburban/rural county 20 miles east of Cincinnati. It is home to a variety of industries and businesses, with a workforce of 110,000 and a current unemployment rate below 4%. University of Cincinnati-Clermont is located in Clermont County. Clermont County lies along the Ohio River, and is home to three state parks, and offers abundant outdoor and recreational opportunities. County budget (2017): $235 million (General Fund $58 million)
Major responsibilities of the County Administrator include, but are not limited to:
o Recommend, administer, enforce and execute the policies and resolutions of the Board
o Liaison with county elected officials’ organizations and other boards and agencies
o Review, approve/decline and oversee contracts as delegated by the Board
o Perform all duties as the Board may determine by resolution(s)
o Perform all functions incumbent upon the Board in the case of a disaster or emergency
o Act in place of the Board in the event of the absence of a quorum during a scheduled session
o Ten years of senior level management/executive experience, preferably in local/county government. High Ethical Standards are expected.
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field § **Master’s degree preferred
o Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems
o Highly developed communication and organizational skills
o Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills
o Demonstrated management skills, including experience with economic development, contract management, project management, information technology, security, and emergency management, including public safety services preferred
o High degree of responsibility, autonomy, and accountability
COMPENSATION: o Commensurate with experience; minimum $110, 989; excellent benefits package.
