CONFERENCES

• The American Jail Association (AJA) will hold its 22nd Annual Training Conference and Jail Exposition in Albuquerque, N.M. May 4–8. This is the largest conference designed specifically for corrections personnel who work in the jail environment. It provides professional training, the opportunity to learn from colleagues around the country who face similar issues every day, plus the latest products and technology in the industry. The Jail Exposition will include more than 275 exhibits from companies ready to share their expertise. • The National Council on the Aging and the American Society on Aging (NCOA-ASA) will hold its 2003 NCOA-ASA Joint Conference in Chicago March 13–16. In more than 900 presentations, the conference will address subjects including adult day services, Alzheimer’s disease, care management and family caregiving issues, and cultural and ethnic minority issues. • The Water Environment Federation (WEF) will hold its 2003 Washington Briefing, Continued Progress and New Perspectives on April 8–9 at the Hotel Washington, D.C. The briefing will open with a one-day seminar designed to provide attendees with information from EPA and Capitol Hill regarding water quality issues. The WEF Government Affairs Committee meeting follows on the morning of April 9 with WEF member visits to Capitol Hill in the afternoon.
