Senate Finance Commitee OKs welfare reform bill

The Senate Finance Committee’s version of a welfare reform bill, the Work, Opportunity and Responsibility for Kids (WORK) bill, contains many provisions that counties support, including more flexibility in the definition of work activities and the definition of cash assistance, more flexible hours of work than the House bill and provisions regarding legal immigrants.
