Bush Administration double talks PILT
Calls for $45 million cut; claims commitment to the initiative

County officials reacted sharply to testimony offered by the Administration on permanent PILT funding during a May 9 Senate hearing. At the hearing, the Interior Department testified that President George W. Bush’s FY03 budget request — which calls for a $45 million (21 percent) cut in the program — demonstrates its commitment to PILT.
