International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is holding its 2002 Annual Conference Sept. 2225. The four-day conference will include information on issues in economic development best practices, enhancing personal and professional development and finding out about successful development organizations. In conjunction with the conference will be the IEDC professional development series which will present a two-day course entitled Economic Development Planning on Sept. 1920, in Oakland, Calif. Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) will hold its 22nd Annual ESRI International User Conference July 812 in San Diego. Conference themes will include homeland security planning, disaster management and emergency services, with an emphasis on strategies for data access and data sharing, as well as other resource sharing initiatives. The conference is geared toward those involved in GIS interested in learning about its role as communication framework for homeland security.
