The City of Gillette, Wyoming (population, 22,000) is currently seeking a Director of Administrative Services to oversee its internal service functions (Information Technology, Fleet Services, City Clerk, Purchasing and Gillette Public Access) as well as to serve as the organizations special projects coordinator.
Gillette lies in the heart of the nations richest coal fields, is in close proximity to the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming and within easy driving distance to some of the most scenic national parks and monuments in the country. Gillettes economy is energy-based and Campbell County is the source of approximately one-fourth of all coal currently mined in the United States. Gillette is known as the Energy Capital of the Nation due to the mining of coal as well as the production of both oil and natural gas and Campbell County is currently experiencing a period of aggressive natural gas development.
The City of Gillettes annual budget for FY2002 is approximately $45 million and provides financing for operations involving eight (8) departments and 190 full-time employees. The Administrative Services Director will have supervisory responsibility for approximately fifteen (15) employees and an annual budget of approximately $2.5 million.
Graduation from a four-year college with major course work in business or public administration or related field or an equivalent acquired through a combination of applicable experiences, certifications or formal training is preferred as well as four to seven years of progressively responsible administrative experience in public/business administration.
