Clinton expected to sign
'Religious Land Use' bill

Skipping committee hearings and floor debate, the House and Senate July 27 approved S. 2869, the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act. The legislation, which NACo opposes because it would preempt county zoning and land use regulation, passed both chambers by unanimous consent.
