Matalin/Carville to speak
at 2001 Legislative Conf.

Back by popular demand at NACo’s 2001 Legislative Conference – one of the country’s premier verbal tag teams – James Carville and Mary Matalin.

Carville and Matalin will square off at the Opening General Session on Sunday, March 4. The conference is scheduled for March 1–5, 20001 in Washington, D.C. Known for snappy repartee that takes no prisoners, the husband and wife duo – each strongly partisan – pounce on the foibles of Democrat and Republican alike.

Carville is now doing for foreign leaders and corporate CEOs what he did for Clinton in ’92 – running the campaign “war room” to get them elected or keep them in power. He has served as political consultant to Canada, England, Greece, Brazil, Ecuador and Argentina.

Matalin, who managed the senior Busch’s ’92 presidential campaign, is now a TV and radio talk-show host. Last year she joined Robert Novak to represent the conservative viewpoint on CNN’s “Crossfire” and continues to hold forth on her own current events show on America’s Voice cable network.

The couple’s book about politics and their marriage, “All’s Fair: Love, War, and Running for President,” was a New York Times bestseller, one of several for Carville. Most recently, the couple has opened a restaurant in Washington, D.C.

This will be the third appearance for the pair at a NACo conference.
