Capitol Hill struggles
with funding bills

Congress was still struggling at the end of last week to reach agreement with the White House on several remaining appropriations bills.

Congress passed a fourth continuing resolution (CR) to provide funding through Oct. 25. Whether another CR will be necessary is not clear.

As County News goes to press, 10 of the 13 funding bills have either been enacted or are awaiting the president’s signature. White House staff have been negotiating details....
