COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR – GLYNN COUNTY, GA.: The Glynn County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for the position of County Administrator. Glynn County is a coastal resort community of 65,000+ located in southeast Georgia’s Golden Isles. The county seat, Brunswick, is equidistant from Savannah, GA and Jacksonville, FL which are some sixty miles away. Glynn County is a full-service county with an annual general fund budget of $33 million and 750 employees. The administrator serves at the pleasure of a seven member commission elected by districts and at-large for four-year staggered terms. The administrator is responsible for executing the policies of the Board and for the daily administration of county government.
Glynn County is seeking an innovative, creative individual with excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills. The county prefers an administrator that can work effectively with all segments of the community to include the Board of Commissioners, staff, business and industry leaders, and individuals and groups from all socio-economic levels. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of county services and be a consensus builder and motivator with experience in finance and budgeting, planning, economic development, growth management, and community relations.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in public administration or a business-related field; a graduate degree is preferred. DIRECTOR – IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION: The State of Iowa is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of the Department of Transportation. This department is the second largest organization in the State of Iowa Government, with an annual program budget of approximately $450 million, 3,500 employees and an annual operating budget of approximately $250 million.
The Director is responsible for handling and managing all aspects of intermodal transportation in Iowa. All major modes of transportation are covered by the department, including regulation and motor vehicle administration. Success in this position requires an ability to foster and maintain extensive relationships with governmental entities at the local, state and national levels.
The Director is appointed by the Governor and is accountable for overall management of the Department.
Qualifications: Graduation from accredited college or university with a degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, Transportation or related degree and five years of professional level experience in transportation administration. Experience which includes extensive interaction with governmental entities, transportation program management or public policy development and demonstrated skill in consensus building, administrative management, communication and problem solving is desirable.

MENTAL HEALTH ADMINISTRATOR – LANCASTER COUNTY, NEB.: The Lancaster County Commissioners are seeking a qualified individual for the position of Administrator for the Community Mental Health Center of Lancaster County. The Mental Health Center is located in Lincoln, Nebraska, a growing community of over 200,000 people. The Administrator oversees a comprehensive mental health program which includes strong psycho-social rehabilitation services, 24-hour emergency service with an inpatient crisis facility, residential and outpatient programs and partial hospitalization. The Mental Health Center is accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Organizations. Service is provided primarily to residents of Lancaster County, with some service to residents of other counties through interlocal agreements.
Candidates should have: a strong background in human services, public or hospital administration; demonstrated record of working successfully with boards, funding sources and consumers; ability to manage a large budget; and organizational/management skills in a supervisory capacity.
