ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF WATER UTILITIES – CITY OF DALLAS:

COUNTY MANAGER Compensation:
Salary and Benefits are negotiable and are anticipated to be highly competitive. – SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLA. (Population: 337,498): Seminole County is located in central Florida within close proximity to downtown Orlando. The County is currently experiencing rapid growth but will reach "build out" in the near future. Seminole County offers outstanding quality of life amenities. The form of government is charter created strong Commission/Manager. The County Manager reports to a 5-member Board of County Commissioners (BCC). All BCC members are elected at large but reside in districts. They serve four-year staggered terms. The chairperson is elected by the BCC. The County Manager has responsibility for Community Information, Public Works. Environmental Services, Planning and Development, Information Technologies, Public Safety, Fiscal Services (including Budget). Human Resources, Administrative Services, Community Services, Library and Leisure Services, Tourism and Economic Development. The 1999 County budget is about $378M and there are about 1,160 County employees. Only Fire employees are unionized.
Requirements include a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or in a field closely related to governmental operations. Five (5) years of responsible management experience in municipal or county government, including at least two (2) years experience as head of a major unit of government; or an equivalent combination of related training experience. Some private sector experience would be a plus. Also requires successful experience in growth management, manager/board relations, planning, financing and construction of capital projects, intergovernmental relations, staff development and support, and interpersonal relations. Must have excellent verbal and written communication.
