Members of NACo’s Telecommunications Task Force delved into the murky world of dark fiber, competing technologies and regulated monopolies in Washington, D.C. Oct. 29–30.

NACo President C. Vernon Gray, who formed the new task force, greeted members at the first meeting, charging them to gather information about the shifting technologies and what it all means for NACo and for a county’s tax base and future economic development.
