The nation’s federal government is operating under a continuing resolution (CR) that expires on Oct. 21.
The budget stalemate this year centers on finding the funds necessary – among other things – to keep operating the programs near and dear to county officials’ hearts, while not breaching the budget caps imposed under the 1997 Budget Act.
